Siberian-born violinist Rimma Benyumova is establishing herself as one of Europe’s most captivating young virtuosi, praised for her maturity and profound musicality.

A graduate of the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, where she studied with Ulf Wallin, and of the MUK Vienna, where she completed a Post-Degree program in 2025 under Boris Kuschnir, Rimma is a major prize winner of the Victor Tretyakov, Schoenfeld, David Oistrakh and Anton Rubinstein International Violin Competitions.

As both soloist and chamber musician, Rimma also inspires in her role as concertmaster. Currently appointed as Deputy Concertmaster of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony (hr‑Sinfonieorchester), she has gained the trust of conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Christian Thielemann, Daniele Gatti and Herbert Blomstedt, among others. She has also served as concertmaster with the Staatskapelle Berlin, Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and the Dresden Philharmonic, and appears regularly with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and numerous international ensembles.

Her recent solo engagements include performances with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali Milano, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Philharmonic Orchestras of Opole, Poznań and Kraków. She has also appeared with the Moscow Virtuosi under Vladimir Spivakov, and with the Kremlin and Russian Camerata Chamber Orchestras.

Her performances have brought her to some of the world’s most prestigious venues, among them Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna, Victoria Hall Geneva, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan, and Bellevue Palace in Berlin in the presence of Federal President Joachim Gauck.

Born in Siberia in 1993 into a family of musicians, Rimma began violin studies with her father, Michail Benyumov, before continuing with Tomasz Tomaszewski in Berlin. She has also benefited from the guidance of renowned artists such as Victor Tretyakov, Zakhar Bron, Salvatore Accardo, Maxim Vengerov and Anna Chumachenko.

Her artistic path has been supported by numerous awards and scholarships, including those from the Ad Infinitum Foundation Berlin, Oscar und Vera Ritter Foundation Hamburg, Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, the German National Scholarship Program, the Moscow Rotary Club and the Ottilie-Selbach-Redslob Foundation. She is also a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.
